A lot of people ask about the differences between a Wedding Coordinator (sometimes called Day Of Coordinator) and a Wedding Planner. The best way I like to explain is that a wedding planner is often focused on creating a vision, design, and typically booking vendors for the couple.
Whereas a Wedding Coordinator is a great option for couples that choose to plan their own wedding! A Coordinator primarily ensures that all of the details on the wedding day are executed according to the vision of the couple. As a Coordinator, I love to give any wanted input or direction about your wedding, while creating and managing your day-of timeline and communicating with your vendors!
I’ve got some more details below about what a Day Of Coordinator does below, but I would love to chat with you more about the differences between a planner and a coordinator if you’d like!
What’s Included
It’s hard to articulate everything that a coordinator does on a wedding day. It usually involves being the first at the venue, the last to leave, and just about everything in between!
I’ve categorized the minimum of what’s included when you hire me to coordinate your wedding below, with the understanding that every wedding is unique and requires mindfulness to every detail!
-
Meetings : I typically have at least two meetings with couples before their wedding date, but every wedding is different! At our first meeting we can determine together the number of meetings that we need - these meetings can be in-person or virtual.
Unlimited Communication : As well as our meetings, I love being available for couples to answer questions and give any design or timeline opinions at any point before your wedding!
Timeline Creation : This is a huge part of my job as your coordinator! Creating a day-of timeline helps couples visualize their wedding day, giving them room to brainstorm unique elements and finalize vendors.
-
Partner with Your Officiant to Direct Your Rehearsal : I will use your day-of timeline that we have created to partner with your officiant in directing your rehearsal!
If you can get into your venue the day before, and my schedule allows, I would love to come and start setting up decor early!
-
There's no way for me to put on a list everything that we'll do during your day, but I've listed a few below. Overall the most important might be that our goal is to put your mind at ease at you and your loved ones wedding day!
Set Up of Ceremony and Reception Decorations
Set Up Signage : Gift Table, Guest Book, Remembering Loved Ones, Dessert Table
Send Your Family and Bridal Party Down the Aisle
Direct Guests throughout the day
Coordinate with Photographer, DJ, Caterer, and other vendors to keep your timeline on track
Direct Tear Down, helping you save what you want to save and speeding up the tear down process
A note about my pricing structure
I typically charge a flat-rate for coordinating, depending on how far out I'm involved and how many hours I’ll be present both the day before and the day of the wedding. The rate is typically between $1,500 and $1,750, including everything mentioned above and more! That rate includes me and one other person which is typically my husband Noah because I love working with him!
If you have any specific questions about pricing or services, please reach out and I would love to chat with you about it!
